Note: Just above this text you will see "View Availability Calendar" ... go ahead - view your dates, and book on line. If your interest is in combining The Gannet with The Puffin to create a two-bedroom, two-bathroom apartment. Please call or email to discuss booking both units.
The Whale Watcher House is a 3-unit vacation rental which sits on the edge of the cliff, overlooking the islands in the Witless Bay Ecological Reserve. This particular unit is The Gannet.
The Whale Watcher's location is second to none on the Avalon Peninsula. Day trips can include everything from checking out the newest UNESCO site in Portugal Cove South - Mistaken Point, to whale watching and birding in Bay Bulls or Witless Bay, to hiking the dramatic paths of the East Coast Trail. For further information on a selection of one day trips to make from the Whale Watcher's apartments - click through to Location from our menu...and there are links to the recommended activities.
The Gannet is a studio apartment which offers a bedroom, kitchen and sitting area, all in one space - a studio. (Don't forget to check out the floor plan - it's in the "Gallery" page on this website.) We have added a pretty deck which affords private outdoor space, and a partial view of the ocean. (I hasten to add that the whole of the Whale Watcher House is all about the views! There are lots of common areas to sit, with a book, or with your binoculars, and take it all in!)
